WEEK 8 - THE BRIDGE
Studio - One Point Perspective

Independent Study - UT 2004 Environment

Independent Study - MashUp
Yin / Jobs / Versace
“Make way for the big Momma of the Billionaires”.
The big momma in question is known for intense focus on design. Perhaps more than anyone despite being almost unknown in the wider world, she has suddenly come to define the global digital and fashion culture at the outset of the 21st century arriving at the top of the list with a net worth of $3.4 billion.
The launch of the new iPod 2008 spring collection in the north eastern province of Heilongjiang China, says something profoundly distressing about common sense and good taste. The 2008 spring collection successfully withstood competitors from Jil Sander and to her longtime nemesis Prada - for almost six years, one of the most rare accomplishments in the world of contemporary fascinations.
One was not tempted to sniff, “Who would wear that” but Mr. Jobs couldn’t help but think, yes, “I’d pay king’s ransom for the new collection because it is exquisite and really does take one’s breath away.”
The secret of her success, she says is the ability to combine their passion with the just amount of control. And when they combine with design the result is magnificent.

Client Quotes
Jane Goodall
"There are many windows through which we can look
out into the world, searching for meaning."
"Chimpanzees and others at play", Re-vision 17 (1995): 1.
Stephen Hawking
“I don't think the human race will survive the next thousand years,
unless we spread into space. There are too many accidents that can
befall life on a single planet. But I'm an optimist. We will reach out to the stars”
"The Return of the time lord", The Guardian, September 27, 2005, News section.
Florence Nightingale
"Law is no explanation of anything; law is simply a generalization,
a category of facts. Law is neither a cause, nor a reason, nor a
power, nor a coercive force. It is nothing but a general formula,
a statistical table. "

WEEK 4 - MACHINIMA
Video that was asked during week4 lecture
Video link 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyyCAzkrpp4&feature=related
This video shows Zaha Hadid's project: Mobile Art Gallery The reason why I posted this video is that the sequence of the video effectively conveys the architectural structure and design elements and the internal space of the art gallery. This is a good example for the final submission of experiment one animation.

This shows other project by Zaha Hadid 'para el Campus de la Justicia'. I have posted this video because I also think that the sequence of this short animation effectively show case the architectural elements and its structure.

Architectural Inspiration:
The use of supporting structure is inspired from the world's tallest hotel the Burj Al Arab. The outer skeleton structure of the Burj Al Arab supports the building structure and is used as an aesthetic element of the building.
